ABOUT THE SITE OWNER

Tina Hollenbeck educated her children at home in Northeast Wisconsin from her older child's birth in 2001 until both graduated from the family's home-based private educational program in 2020. She served on the board of a local homeschool association for five years between 2008 and 2018, and volunteered for the group in several other capacities as well. She is a staunch homeschool advocate and takes very seriously the “essential principles for maintaining homeschooling freedoms” as outlined by Wisconsin homeschooling pioneer Larry Kaseman in pre-2016 editions of Homeschooling in Wisconsin: At Home with Learning. To that end, she moderates Alt: WI, a Facebook group dedicated to promoting a fact-based, freedom-enhancing vision of private homeschooling in the state, maintains the Alt: WI website, and also owns and operates Northeast Wisconsin's homeschool parent resource center, The Homeschool Loft. 

Beyond Northeast Wisconsin, Tina is the owner of The Homeschool Resource Roadmap and The Christian Homeschool Oasis. And she's written a book for homeschoolers, 8 Great Smarts for Homeschoolers.

She is available to speak on parenting- and homeschool-related topics to both large and small groups and for personalized consulting.
